Well, I am back with another interesting stuff about our very favorite series ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’. Previously, we talked about the major characters of the series. The posts got huge response from the fans of the series and the readers encouraged me to continue sharing such interesting information about the show.  Hence, this post comes out of the bag .

Do you know that the title of the series ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ has been spoofed by several TV shows? The initiative was taken by Chris Rock who named his series Everybody Hates Chris after the name of ELR. Soon, the popular ABC drama ‘Lost’ also followed his foot prints and spoofed the title to name an episode of the second season of series. The episode was named Everybody Hates Hugo. Law & Order creators also found it an interesting title and they named one of series’ episodes as Everybody Loves Raimondo’s.

The craze and the popularity of Everybody Loves Raymond made the Til Death, a popular Fox Network series, creators to feature Romano as an extra in an episode of the series. South Park, the Comedy Central animation series, also had references from ELR.  In the episode entitled ‘Gnomes’ of South Park, Cartman suggested the other buddies to prepare a report on “that Raymond guy from TV. Everybody loves Raymond.”

Don’t know whether you know it or not that Ray Romano and Brad Garrett made appearance as brothers on an episode of the first season of ‘The King of Queens’.  In the same series, Patricia Heaton was also seen as a guest star. What does it all prove? Simply, it tells that Everybody Loves Raymond is such a popular series that other series take references from it. Kudos to the minds behind the series!

So, we’re talking about the very loving characters of Everybody Loves Raymond TV show. Previously, we’ve discussed Raymond Albert Barone, Debra Louise Whalen Barone, and Robert Charles Barone. And, now, let’s begin with the next characters in the row.

The first name which hits my mind is Marie Janella Barone. She was the wife of Frank and the mother of Ray. The lady was the matriarch of the Barone family and had all the skills which every housewife must have to bring up a nurturing family. She was living with her husband across the street from Ray and Debra, much to their annoyance. The character was portrayed by Doris Roberts and she managed to secure a strong fan base with her brilliant performance on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’.

And, now comes the turn of Francis “Frank” Oscar Barone. He was Marie’s husband and Ray’s father. Frank had been a bookkeeper and had a stubborn masculine personality. The man had fought in the Korean War and was used to mention it often. His sons never liked his habit of boasting of his services in the war. Peter Boyle portrayed the character and received a high response from the viewers with his acting skills. With profound grief, it’s being written that the man died on December 12, 2006.

Next is Amy Louise MacDougall-Barone. Monica Horan portrayed Amy’s character on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’. She was the wife of Robert Barone. She and Debra had been good friends. In fact, Debar was the one who introduced Amy to Robert. Her biggest personality trait was that the lady was very kind-hearted. During the run of the show, we saw her apologizing even for the faults which she had never committed.

Anyways, my wish today is to talk about the characters of the series. Whom should I start with? Okay, let’s begin with the main character of the show- Raymond Albert Barone. He works as a sportswriter for Newsday, living in Lynbrook, Long Island. The other members of his family are, his wife Debra and kids Geoffrey, Michael and Alexandra “Ally’. The family doesn’t end here, the above mentioned ones share the home with Raymond and living across the street are his parents Frank and Marie and his cop brother Robert. The character of Raymond Albert Barone has some little connections with the real life Romano.

Okay, the next turn is of Debra Louise Whalen Barone. She is Ray’s wife and is the mother of his children. She is a housewife leading a very stressful and tensed life. Making matters worse for her are three obnoxious children and the other members of Ray’s family, especially his parents and brother. And, Ray is never very assisting to her. Although, she manages to control her temper most of the time, its only when Ray does something, that she loses her self control and throws tantrums.

And, it’s Robert Charles Barone now. He’s Ray’s brother and a very caring uncle as well. He has been a New York Police Department Officer, for a long time and in the end of the series, we see him attaining the rank of Lieutenant. The care and concern Ray received from his mother has always been a factor of jealousy for him. He often becomes the center of the humor, thanks to his huge size, standing at 6′ 8.5″.

Well, who else misses ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ episodes and series’ star cast? Several years have been passed after series finale but I still love it and regularly watch my favorite episodes of show. ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ was a show which was liked by fans throughout its run and it was the most talked about show during those days. As of now, I am watching my favorite episodes and also looking for last news relevant to the show.

While doing so, I came across very stimulating news (at least for me)… it’s about Patricia Heaton who played Debra Barone on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’. She was one of my favorite characters on show and I really liked her appearance on show. Nowadays, this femme fatale is ready to appear as a lead character in the comedy pilot ‘The Middle’. Series would feature her as the matriarch of a middle class Midwestern family. It’ll be directed by Julie Anne. Ray Romano’s long suffering wife on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ will appear as a stressed out mom in ‘The Middle’. Cool…. It’d be great to see her portraying that role.

Debra Louise of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ was Ray’s wife and was mother of three kids namely Ally, Michael and Geoffrey. Her performance was very much appreciated by viewers as she tried to deal with household work and also with her rambunctious kids. Adding more nuisance to her life are Ray’s obnoxious family members. The lady performed so well and of course, she contributed a lot to series’ success.

Well, she has secured a very strong fan base with her superb acting skills and her fans are eager to watch her on ‘The Middle’, portraying another interesting role. It’s in the womb of future, whether she would repeat the same success or would set new milestones for her self. Let’s wait up to the mid of 2009 as ‘The Middle’ will commence shooting in February, 2009.

I know that the series has ended long time back, but I can’t help writing about it. The series is still my favorite one and even today I watch it on regular basis. There is one more thing that I do on regular basis, when it comes to this series. Want to know what that is. I keep updating myself with all the news that I can get about the show and about the stars of the show. And yesterday, while I was searching net, I found something about Brad Garrett, the star from the amazing comedy series.

These days actor Brad Garrett is all busy with his new project, ‘Dating Brad Garrett’. ‘Dating Brad Garrett’ is his new on-line dating show. The actor said that he has spent the summer screening female applicants with the help of his mother and ex-wife, Jill Diven. These days, Garrett is in news not because of his new show, but because of the person who he is dating. Recently Garrett was spotted enjoying the company of an unknown female in New York and Los Angeles. When some photographer tried to take his pictures Garrett threatened to ‘pop’ the photographer. Also, the newspaper’s photographer has accused the star of spraying him with bottled water in a bid to avoid the camera, after he caught them strolling through the city on Sunday.

Now, Garrett why hide it if you are going around with someone. Take a chill pill about the whole thing. And, you guys now isn’t the news worth it. If you want to keep updating yourself with anything and everything about the show, then you can keep checking the site. As I know that we all love ‘Everybody loves Raymond‘.

This weekend it was becoming difficult for me to kill the time due to rain outside. I was unable to go out and to hang on with friends as well as I was getting bored of the ongoing dramas on television. I like to watch comedy in my spare time and nothing was good on TV. So I started net surfing and reached here and found out one of my favorite show from past, on the list of TV shows on this site. I was so glad that I found all seasons of the show which had ended up back in 2005. So I decided to see it from the beginning and downloaded the first season.

I remember the show was extremely funny from beginning to end. In the first episode it was known that Debra has some friction with Ray’s parents. This lawful relationship is depicted in the funniest way in this show. See, Debra has problem with Ray’s parents and Debra’s arrogant family meets Barons at a restaurant and eventually both Ray and Debra want to avoid their respective in-laws. Well I think this is the good lesson for those who are eager to marry.

Besides this their kids, in the first season Debra is finding it extremely difficult to handle the kids, and seeks Ray’s help, but Mr. Ray has no time to listen to his wife, he’s always busy with sports channel. And consequently he wins Best sports writer of the year award later on. Now don’t take it as advantage of not listening to your wives guys. Your wives will mess me up, within my blog.

You know which episodes I liked the most from Season One, one is Neighbors where Ray and his wife receive complaints from neighbors about Frank and Marie’s intolerable behavior. Besides this, I liked the episode “Turkey or Fish”.

It’s tough for Debra to cook Turkey, so she is keen to cook fish on Thanksgiving Day, despite its tradition to cook turkey on that day. The Barons family is full of fun, though they are fighting with their routine issues. But I really miss the show and I want more of it. What say?

What a stupid question I have placed as a headline! Off course, the show was one of America’s favorites in its times. No matter how old is it. Whenever I think of the show, it seems that I have watched it just a few days ago. Actually the show was depicting such wonderful comedy that is relevant till today and suits to the contemporary audiences too. Especially, the argumentation among the spouses on the show, which is immortal and will remain the same forever. This pin-pointed blame game is universal.

Whether this is about Raymond and his wife or his parents, I liked the both. It seems similar to everybody’s family scenario. I liked the Raymond and his wife the most in an episode, where Raymond and his wife had a fight and Raymond was trying hard to convince her to go out with him. But she just goes upstairs in anger while shooting sharp comments on Raymond.

After reaching in her room she is getting ready and when she picks up her hair drier, the drier gives her nice shock and she comes down the stairs with her hair raised. The scene really made me roll on my bed with laughter. On the other hand I like Frank Barone’s role equally. His delivers his dialogues in a unique style and which always add to the humor. In fact his gestures and body language produces more humor than his dialogues.

His teasers will be remembered till years. These two characters are responsible for making me Watch Everybody Loves Raymond Show episodes again and again. Previously I was going for DVD’s but now I prefer to dowload them.

and watching online whenever I want. I really really wish that show people think over to make it again or in the form of a movie, like it is happening with other be alike hit shows. But it seems that this is following the trend of Friends that is no spin off. So sad….

And, now here’s my dad. A man with extra care for us, I hope you can understand this EXTRA. I don’t know why he’s like that. Last Sunday, his ATM was not responding so I just paid for him.

What the reaction was, “Julie! You don’t need to do babe”!!! What’s that? Do I need to take permission from him for every activity I do and do I need to inform him for everything?

I think you’ll definitely say NO, never. But dad is not trying to understand. Oh!! Dad comes on, I am not a kid now…

This incident reminded me of an episode from Everybody Loves Raymond when, Ray represents his parents a certificate to the fruit-of-the-month club?

And their reaction was, ““What are we going to do with all this fruit? Who could eat all of this fruit?” oh! Gosh. Dad didn’t react exactly in that manner, but still his activities are exactly like Ray’s dad.

Oh! Poor Ray and poor Julie, having same type of troubles. But even then dad is dad so love u dad.
Everybody loves Raymond is an unforgettable series and I hope we’ll never forget it.
