Personal Life- Her father Chuck Heaton is sportswriter for Cleveland Plain Dealer, and her brother Michael is ‘Minister of Culture’ columnist for the Plain dealer and writer for its Friday magazine. She is married to actor David Hunt and has four sons.
Career Credits- She is Graduate in Drama and started her career from Theatre in 1987, with Don’t Get God Started. In 1989 she caught the eye of Thirtysomething creator and bagged the role of Oncologist. In the same year she made guest appearance in Alien nation. Then she worked in Room For Two in 1992 and in Someone Like Me in 1994. Finally she stepped in to Everybody loves Raymond and it gave her an identity and she got many nominations and awards for the series. In 2007 she became part of Back To You and simultaneously returned back to stage with play ‘The Scene’. For this, she got nominated for 22nd Lucille Lortel Awards as Outstanding Lead Actress. Her film credits include shattered Dreams, Miracle in the woods and many more. The recent one was a documentary in 2005 named The Bituminous Coal Queens of Pennsylvania, directed by her husband. She has also appeared in some commercials as spokesperson on radio and television.
Debra’s Character- Heaton is playing lead role as Raymond’s wife and mother of his three naughty kids. She keeps on complaining to Raymond about his non-cooperativeness in taking care of children even when she is sick. She has some frictions with Raymond’s parents and she creates fun with argumentation with Raymond and his parents. She finds it difficult to mange between household work and controlling her noisy kids. Whenever Raymond does something, she loses control over her temper and Raymond becomes the victim.
