Personal Life- He is originally from Calabria, Italy, and is an Italian-American. He spent his childhood in Forest Hills. He graduated in 1975 from Hillcrest High School and Fran Drescher was his classmate in the same school and later on he acted in his show ‘The Nanny’ in the role of an old classmate. He has majored in accounting but soon shifted to show biz. Previously he was working in a bank and got his life partner from there. She is Anna Scarpulla and the couple is blessed with four children.
Career- He is an actor writer and a stand-up comedian. His comedy career began from Comedy central, with guest voice role for the show Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. He also participated as contestant in Star Search as comedian. He also worked in radio but didn’t succeed and soon after this he became a star of his own show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ He also starred in a salesman comedy Grilled. He won US$ 125,000in 2000 episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. In 2001 he was in the list of EI’s top twenty entertainers of the year list. In 2004, he became the highest paid television actor in history for his role of Raymond. He broke the records by his show with revenue of US$3.9 Billion. His other popular works are Ice Age, Welcome to Mooseport, Ice Age: The Meltdown and The Nanny.
Raymond’s Character- Ray is playing the lead role on the show. He is a sportswriter for Newsday. He is married to Debra and has two twin sons Geoffrey and Michael and a daughter Alexandra, Ally. Besides these his parents and an elder brother live in the same street. He is playing a careless husband who prefers to watch TV instead of spending time with his wife and kids. He remains the regular target of sharp comments from his wife through put the series.
